Hi.
Not sure if it's normal, cuzI just installed it, but I need help with this.
Ok. I add my services: MSN, AIM, etc) into Miranda. All's cool. So, I alt tab to ms word and finish my document. I then need to ask a dude something so alt tab back to miranda... Which isn't there. Turns out then whenever I alt tab out of Miranda, it just skurries to the system tray. I'd like to change it, so when I alt tab, it does not go into the system tray.
Also, names are truncated. For example:
ZoneBBS Adaic...
And it just litterally has a ... right after it. I'd also like to extend this not to only, like, the first 12 characters or so, but so the entire name displays.
If this is possible, let me know, please.

Check and see if your contact list is set to close after X amount of seconds.
Shift+control+O and arrow down to 'window' where you should see the following line of text:
'Hide contact list after it has been idle for'
Playing with this should fix your issue.
Or u could go get the jaws friendly version of miranda, with the scripts. That should fix it, no problem.

Hello, Braille Note Nut!
If you go to The Blind Geek Zone, you will find Jaws Friendly Miranda in the 'programs' section. Replace your current Miranda with this one. If you wish, you may also download and install the scripts for this version of Miranda. Once the new version is installed, go to your options. In the "plugins" branch, make sure that "clist_blind" is checked. Be sure that none of the other plugins with names beginning "clist_" are checked. Also, make sure that "srmm" is checked, and that "scriver" is not. Still while in the "options" tree, you can enable the "show/hide" hotkey. This will insure that you can bring up and dismiss the Miranda contact list from anywhere by toggling this. I think the default for this key is 'ctrl-shift-a'.

Glad I could help. If you're not using the scripts or want Miranda to have a different voice, or whatever, there's a plugin called Speak, which makes Miranda self-voicing, using your chosen SAPI voice. Very nice.

Braill Note Nut, in the options just watch where u go, if u try and go into one of the option places, miranda will crash. Jut thought I'd let u know about that.
To be safe, I nagigagte the option tree by letter; Miranda hasn't crashed on me since I started doing this.
Sorry to be a pain guys, but this is quite weird. Whenever I go into the thing, write someone a message and alt-tab out to continue my work, then they write back, it says their name over and over. By it, i mean jaws. So lets say I'm talking to Ryan, and he sent a message. Jaws would say:
Ryan. ryan. ryan. ryan. ryan. ryan. for like 5 minutes straight. Not very nice. If there's a way to fix that, please let me know.
does Meranda work with winow eyes and ware do you put what services you use?
I don't know if it works with that screen reader, and what do you mean services. Do you mean protocols? Well, if that's what you mean, I use AIM, MSN and am trying to get Jabber going.
that I don't know how to fi the repeating of names, but to battle star, when u run the etup, it'll ask u what protocols u want to install with it. Select them, then go into options, and fill them out with your screen name pasword that stuff. For jabber, Andy, just go into options, and have it set up the same way.
THX. I'll get right on that in a sec. My problem might be something like flashing when incoming messages appear, which would in theory have Jaws repeat the name if that flashes. So I'll get on that in a sec.

Miranda will work with Wineyes, JAWS, NVDA, and who knows what else. Braillenote Nut, Try looking for some preference like "flash selected" in the contact list branch.
For some reason meranda won't let me sign in to msn. I don't see any edit boxes or anything that lets you enter your email address and password. So how do you do that?
I think its in the options, under the network option in the tree view, then tab and find msn and enter your info.
Under protocols in options, find MSN. Tab over, and make sure that the expert options is checked. U want it to show that stuff. Then tab until u can put in your info. Hit apply, then that should fix it.

Ya don't have the use the AWS Friendly Miranda or the scripts.
You do have to use the clist_blind.dll file, though.
Using latest version and everything seems to work well here.
Yes, the window does flash when theree is an incomming iM.
